Introduction

Fear and anxiety are normal responses to threat. Fear can be innate but it can also be learned. Fear can interfere with ongoing tasks but we can also dominate our fears. This project has two main goals. One goal is to examine the mechanisms involved in fear learning and fear expression. A second goal is to investigate the interaction between anxiety and task performance in order to understand how anxiety interferes with our daily life and how one can learn to distract ourselves from our anxiety.
